  • Abstract
In large systems like student proctorial system in educational institutions providing with web accesses for their internal information are quite complex to develop and maintain. Service oriented architecture reduces the complexity involved in such systems by using the features of modularity, interoperability and composition using the standards like XML, SOAP, UDDI and WSDL. This paper describes the design of e-proctorial system using service oriented architecture(SOA) which gives facility for the staffs, students and parents to access the proctorial system using the web access. In This proposed system, once if the subject handling staffs have entered the marks of all the students in a class, immediately the intimation will be sent to the Proctors´ mobiles and the proctor can confirm about the validity of the marks with the students and the subject handlers using his mobile access enabled through the SOA. Once if it is confirmed by both parties then the information about the attendance and the marks will be forwarded from the system automatically to the parents mobiles if the Proctors enabled the service to deliver the information from their mobile itself using the system proposed in this paper. And once if the parents respond to the information accordingly the reply will be forwarded to the proctors as well as all the communications sent through the proposed system will be maintained in data store at the back end for recording/reviewing purpose.
