Abstract
A novel design for optically controlled microwave switching is presented, which is based on a microwave bridge structure consisting of a coplanar waveguide and a coplanar transmission line on a high-resistive semiconductor substrate. Numerical simulation for such bridge switches demonstrates unprecedented performance (> 30 dB ON/OFF ratio all over a frequency band of 100 GHz), even with 10% fabrication imperfection.
