Abstract :
A Probabilistic Fuzzy Logic System is proposed for the modeling and control problems, which include fuzzification, inference engine and defuzzification operation to process the fuzzy information. It uses the probabilistic modeling method and three dimensional membership functions; thus enabling to handle the effect of random noise and stochastic uncertainties existing in the process. It shows a better performance than an ordinary FLS and conventional PID control method in stochastic related disturbances to the system. In many engineering fields, the probabilistic modeling is a useful tool to handle random uncertainties especially in robotic control system, process control system etc. The probabilistic methods and fuzzy techniques are good for processing stochastic and non-stochastic uncertainties respectively. Hence the aim in this paper is to integrate and implement the probability theory and fuzzy logic in an engineering application.
