Abstract :
Modern microwave communication system require stable and compact local oscillator source. This paper presents a low phase-noise frequency tripler, based on a pseudomorphic high electron-mobility technology, for 38GHz short-range communication system. The multiplier exhibits a conversion loss of 3.4dB and an average phase noise degradation at 10kHz and lOOkHz offset-frequency from carrier of 9 ± 1dB.
