Abstract :
Performance of Spatial Selective (S2)-MUSIC is analyzed and experimentally evaluated in this paper. The novelty of the S2 MUSIC consists of suppressing element space dimension and reducing the search field to a limited range. S2-MUSIC offers a significant reduction on the computation time without a significant impact on the accuracy of the Direction of Arrival (DOA) estimates. The results are compared to conventional and subspace based high resolution DOA estimation algorithms. Simulation and lab test results confirmed that S2-MUSIC significantly reduces the computational cost and yields similar performance compared to the high resolution subspace methods.
