Abstract
After discussing possible applications of neural networks, the authors examine hardware implementation including emulators, analog microelectronic implementations, and the synaptic interconnections. Examples of neural network chips are considered. The circuits have programmable interconnections, but the weight values have to be computed externally and are then loaded onto the chip. The designs are all fabricated in standard CMOS technology.<>
