Abstract
Theoretical and experimental investigations are performed into a spatial power combining structure formed by trays of uniplanar quasi-Yagi antennas. A single tray consisting of two back to back connected quasi-Yagi antennas and then 5-tray and 7-tray combiners operating over X- and Ku-band are developed and tested. Ordinary pyramidal horn antennas are used to distribute and collect the microwave power. Return loss, insertion loss and field uniformity across the trays are investigated.
