Abstract
Due to rising prices of fossil fuels especially of crude oil in 2008 and concerns about climate change, attention has again been on renewable and environment friendly energies. This paper reviews and highlights policies and practices that have been adopted by various nations which are in forefront of promoting renewable energies.
