Abstract :
The dynamic inspection on plant invasion is a basis for the study of the influence of plant invasion on the carbon cycle of the ecosystem in the invaded area. This paper, with Chongming Dongtan Birds Nature Reserve as the research place, Spartina alterniflora as the invasive plant and Landsat TM and SPOT as the major data source, conducted quantitative analysis on the invasion dynamics of Spartina alterniflora and its influence on the vegetation distribution patterns in Chongming Dongtan Birds Nature Reserve from 2003 to 2009. The research result indicated that the Spartina alterniflora community has covered 1485.348 hm2 by 2009 and its spread rate was much higher than the indigenous Phragmites australis and Scirpus mariqueter, ranking a predominant vegetation in Chongming Dongtan; the invasion of Spartina alterniflora shall effect great influence on carbon cycle of Chongming Dongtan Birds Nature Reserve ecosystem and biological diversity and carrying capacity of the migratory birds there.
