Abstract :
Low-conductivity polymers and materials containing charge-asymmetric atomic groups provide dielectric spectra which reflect the molecular and sub-molecular motions coupled to the groups. The information enables assessments to be made of the processes which contribute towards low-temperature impact strength. In multi-phase and multi-component systems the technique is able to provide considerable detail regarding miscibility and morphology, aided by spectral components from inter-phase charge asymmetries
