Abstract :
The Yangtze River Delta region is one of the most rapid economic development areas in China. In fact, its economic growth still contains extensive features, which constrain economic sustainable development and international competition improvement of this region. Due to its inherent problems, extensive growth is unsustainable, while intensive growth contains sustainable development meaning and possesses conditions and foundation to realize sustainable development. Therefore, intensive growth is an inevitable choice for the Yangtze River Delta region to transform economic development mode. In virtue of scientific and technological progress and system innovation, starting with changing economic growth mode, adjusting and optimizing economic structure and transforming government function, a fundamental change of economic development mode and economic sustainable development will come true.
