Abstract
In the context of VLSI and CAD (computer-aided design), specific application examples of linear graph theory are discussed: VLSI layout design, large-scale network analysis, and pattern recognition. A number of references with both historically significant and current contributions are provided in this tutorial to allow use as a guide to graph-theory-application literature
