Abstract :
Ellipticalirisesin rectangular waveguides are currently finding application in dual mode filters, couplers, etc. They present ease of manufacture and, with respect to rectangular irises, improved sensitivities. In this contribution we introduce new analytical formulae for the modal evaluation of the scattering properties of a set of thick elliptical irises liberally placed in the rectangular waveguide cross-section. Experimental and theoretical results are compared for validating the proposed formulae. Moreover, the electrical behavior of multiple irises with respect to small variations of the geometrical parameters are also investigated.
