Abstract :
In recent years, reflective display devices based on electrowetting have attracted increasing interest in flat-plate display community. By controlling a colored oil film electrically, display elements of high response speed and stable intermediate optical states could be obtained. We have developed an electrowetting based display element array prototype. In this paper, we describe its working principle, fabrication process, primary testing results, and the electro-optic behavior of the device is discussed based on a model calculation.
