Abstract :
A new type of conformal flexible microstrip antenna using elastic silicon layers and bendable thin substrates has been developed. The antenna operates at 434 MHz and is designed to be easily mounted on curved body contours. The size of the antenna is 150 mm × 110 mm. Simulation results show that the antenna radiates into the body tissue providing up to 46.2mm penetration depth, an effective field size of 75 cm2, and an effective heating depth of 14.1 mm.
