Abstract :
The time-varying Doppler signatures of a wind turbine in the presence of ground are simulated and interpreted. Both a point-scatterer model and high-frequency ray tracing are used to simulate the ground effect. The Doppler spectrogram shows two additional blade flashes due to the single and double ground bounce returns. The effects of stationary as well as moving ground are studied.
