Abstract
The paper presents the design, development and implementation of a Three Phase diode clamped active front-end converter in rectification mode for the power factor control and power quality improvement. Specifically this paper concentrates on the dc link capacitor balancing and maintenance of near to unity power factor of the supply. The paper also proposes an existing and popular mathematical modeling for the converter. The modulation technique used ensures minimum switching losses. Proposed scheme also has wide input range and good input side power factor.
