Abstract
A design of a new network millimeter-wave cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna, operates at 60 GHz mounted on a conformal ground plane substrate is presented. Simulations are performed using both CST Microwave studio employing the Finite Integration Technique (FIT) and Ansoft HFSS employing the Finite Element Method (FEM). Good agreement is obtained for main antenna characteristics such as the return loss and radiation pattern. Furthermore, the obtained gain and efficiency are 8.25 dBi and 98% respectively. This antenna network is suitable for millimeter-wave underground communication.
