Abstract
In this paper a new algorithm for detection and location of multi defects along a cable section of a network is introduced. These tasks are performed based on the Traveling Wave (TW) components measured at the two accessible cable ends. To reduce the calculation burden, a recursive formulation for obtaining TW components is presented. The algorithm is extended by Mathematical Morphology (MM) which is used to purify PD signals in order to provide Multi-PDs detection and location. The simulation results have shown good performance of the proposed algorithm.
