Abstract :
High-resolution electro-optic near-field mapping has been performed on a Ka-band 2×2 patch antenna array. The far-field patterns for the array have been calculated from extreme-near-field amplitude and phase data using a near-to far-field transformation process. The transformed field patterns display outstanding agreement with theoretically predicted results and independent far-field measurements. Also, various filtering processes were introduced to investigate the contributions to the far-field formation of individual radiating elements in the array.
