Abstract :
Target tracking, which has been applied popularly in military and civil aspects, is one of the important applications in wireless sensor network. In this paper, we propose a new kind of target tracking system based on camera sensor networks considering the tracking accuracy as the key performance metric. The designed tracking system is composed of four basic components: Object Detection, Neighbor Notification, Coordinates Computation, Trajectory Generation. The camera sensor node is responsible of image acquisition, image processing, extracting the coordinates of the object, and coordinates transformation between image coordinate and world coordinate, and at last transmitting the computed coordinates information to the Internet server via sensor networks. The server will produce the trajectory according to the coordinates sent from the sensor nodes in real time. Furthermore, we build up a test bed to conduct experiments. Experimental results show that the proposed system can achieve high accuracy for the object tracking.
