Abstract :
In accordance with the characteristics of multiterminal AC/DC power systems (AC/MTDC), this paper presents a new approach-the load equivalent method, based on the concept of replacing the existing DC power system by several voltage dependent loads, in order to calculate AC/MTDC power flow. By the equivalent method, the AC/MTDC power system load flow computation is completely identical to the AC power flow computation in both algorithms and convergence characteristics
