  • Abstract
    An error concealment algorithm for Motion JPEG2000 coding is proposed in this paper. It is for the application where the whole low-frequency subband is destroyed. Firstly, it uses edge operator to weight the edge information from high-frequency subband. Then motion estimation is applied between neighbor frames. To verify the validity of motion estimation result, further motion estimation is applied to some blocks which got high motion vectors in a low-motion frame. Motion estimation results are used to decide whether motion compensation or replacement should be used to recover the image. Simulations indicate that the method is effective and achieve high subject performance.
