Abstract
A lumped-element directional coupler with arbitrary output amplitude and phase distributions is introduced. Design equations for the coupler are derived and reported here. The design is significantly smaller than transmission-line based structures directional couplers. During the presentation the use of the network as a building block for a Butler matrix will be shown.
