Abstract :
We propose a evolutionary generation of microwave line-segment circuits for complicated specifications by optimizing its topology as well as its dimensions using genetic algorithms (GA). The newly developed procedure maps a set of parameters into a line-segment circuit of any size without increasing the number of parameters. This enables us to apply it not only to small size components but also the large circuits which have unconventional specifications in wide band. This set of parameters is to be optimized by GA. To reduces the GA computation time, a corresponding circuit is decomposed into discontinuous elements, and their S parameters are synthesized so as to obtain the response of the circuit. Three design examples are tested and the results validate the procedure.
