Abstract
Recent information-theoretic work has shown the potential capacity increase of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems compared to single-input single-output (SISO) systems. The singular value decomposition (SVD) has proven very useful in MIMO communication systems but its performance depends on the accuracy of the channel state information (CSI) at both sides of the link. This paper presents a study on the influence of channel estimation errors and noise on the probability of error of the system when no error correction mechanisms are provided.
