Abstract
This paper is devoted to the electrical network optimization with the help of genetic algorithms-an optimization method based on the simulation of biological evolution. This problem is a multi-dimensional nonlinear discrete optimization problem, which requires the use of heuristic or combinatorial algorithms. The mathematical model and algorithm of the given problem are developed. The algorithm of electrical network optimization is based on the simple genetic algorithm. The presented methodology is applied to a test electrical network. The main advantages of this approach, which allow one to increase the efficiency of such mathematical method, are shown.
