Abstract
This paper presents a Metamaterial Leaky Wave Antenna (MLWA) having wing-shaped radiation structures. By simply varying their angles and length, radiation rate can be controlled in a predictable manner. The radiation rate of the unit cell has been found to be controlled up to about 43 % at a transient frequency of 2 GHz. The circuit/EM-simulated and measured S-parameter results are shown to be in good agreement.
