  • Abstract
    Some direct on-line observer-based approach for leak detection and isolation in pipelines is here presented and tested in simulation. Given indeed a number of possible leaks to be detected, an observer aiming at simultaneous estimation of magnitudes and positions of the leaks is given on the basis of some appropriate model on the one hand, and appropriate excitation on the other hand. The method is illustrated via simulation results.
