Abstract
In this paper, the algorithm we developed previously (1991) and its application to power system stabiliser design for single-machine infinite-bus systems is extended to multi machine systems. This is based on: 1) the pseudo global system models introduced in this paper; 2) a frequency-response based model-order reduction technique; and 3) the pole assignment algorithm for the single-input multi-output control systems presented by us previously (1991). The design method is further illustrated by an application to a model of a practical 10 machine power system.
