Abstract
A dielectric tube antenna fed by a waveguide-excited dielectric sphere is analyzed using the body-of-revolution FDTD method. To obtain a high gain, the tube is slightly flared. It is found that the flared configuration achieves a gain of approximately 23 dBi at 12 GHz, which is higher than that of a uniform configuration.
