Abstract :
Advances in hardware technology, and wireless network have led to widely usage of implantable wireless micro-systems. However, they still present many challenges in different applications, mainly due to the size constrains and limited available power. In this work, the simulation results of a low voltage CMOS 180 nm passive analog front-end circuit intended for powering implants are presented. The 2.4 GHz ISM band frequency is employed for transmitting power. The RF signal is converted to a DC power by a charge pump circuit and stabilized at 1 V by a voltage regulator. At the same time, the data signals are transmitted through the Medical Implant Communication Service (MICS) band. Subsequently, a low noise amplifier (LNA) with a voltage gain of 16.48 dB at 1 V is implemented to recover the data signals.
