Abstract :
In this paper, it is shown for the first time that precise phase manipulation of the optical signal by the DWP is possible, leading to a novel way of dispersion trimming. Until now, only intensity-modulating features have been implemented on the DWP, which make it possible for example to control the output intensity to each output port. By varying the phase relatively in the wavelength-dimension, it is also possible to accurately control the spectral phase of the optical signal.
