Abstract :
All-optical swapping of spectral-amplitude code (SAC)-labels in a semiconductor fiber ring laser (SFRL) using cross-absorption modulation (XAM) in an electro-absorption modulator (EAM) is demonstrated. The wavelength and time domain representation of a packet using SAC-labels are obtained. The static transfer functions and spectral plots of the ON/OFF states for label-swapping from a single tunable input label wavelength to an SAC-label of weight two are presented.
