Abstract
Transmission characteristics of depressed-ridge waveguide are analyzed by the finite element method. Design data of cutoff wavelength of the dominant mode and single-mode bandwidth for different ridge dimensions are presented in tabulated forms. Field patterns of the dominant mode and the first higher-order TE mode are also illustrated. Numerical results are obtained, which are useful in the design of many microwave components and subsystems.
