  • Abstract
This article presents an algorithm of implementation of a green supply chain based on a "Product Oriented Model" to lower negative externalities of the current supply chain on human health. It describes all logical activities implied and rules which define what it is necessary to make, in which order, in a purpose to identify existing weak points, to correct them within a new product design framework and implement a green supply chain., a network that minimizes as much as possible environmental loads. The model comprises four levels; the first concentrates on auditing the existing system for possible change with integration of environmental aspects. The second level is focused on the design of a new product with objectives of greater reduction of materials and energy consumption, reduction of pollution during manufacturing and product use phases, the anticipation of product end of life impacts and the product life span optimization. The third level concerns the manufacturing process based on efficient resource and energy use. Finally the last level is focused on product distribution and delivery including the reverse flow of waste management principles.
