Abstract :
The present study has been designed to examine the main factors that affect job satisfaction of two foreign banks and two state-owned banks in Shanghai, China. The banks were selected and from each organization 75 subjects were selected randomly. A questionnaire developed by Lujia (2001) was used for ascertaining the most important and different factors that influence job satisfaction in 4 organizations with different cultural background. Data were analyzed employing Spss13.0. five factors were found significantly different from one another. The result indicates that lower salary level and less welfare schemes, unfair promotion policies, lower social status, organization commitment and personal fulfillment make the job dissatisfaction of domestic banks lower than foreign banks.
