Abstract :
In this paper, the attenuation of coplanar waveguides (CPWs) with wide and narrow ground planes have been simulated and compared with experimental results up to 1 THz. By assessing the validity of the full-wave analysis, the subterahertz attenuation of CPWs can be predicted. Furthermore, it is quantitatively verified that the use of narrow ground planes significantly reduces the radiation loss, which leads to a large reduction in the total attenuation of CPWs at subterahertz frequencies.
