  • Abstract
The aim of this study was to facilitate the use of good quality learning designs across the higher education sector by identifying those with inter-disciplinary potential. An initial survey sought to determine what learning designs lecturers were currently using, how typical they thought the use of these designs were in their discipline and whether their use had an established history in that discipline. A follow-up online survey was administered specifically targeting lecturers´ knowledge of discipline differences of learning designs and how open these lecturers were to sharing learning designs across the disciplines and then interviews designed to elicit more detailed information about the major themes derived from both the earlier surveys. This presentation will report on the results of this work which determines the extent to which an effective learning design can be successfully transferred across into another discipline/subject, and thereby sharing good teaching and learning.
