Abstract
Considering the accelerating rate at which software application development is progressing, emerging technologies like Scala, Ruby, and Groovy almost run in a neck to neck competition. This paper presents our study of these languages which are most commonly used in telecommunication/middleware video streaming applications as compared to the long standing Python technology.
