Abstract
The basic concept and system components of mobile satellite communication (MSC) are discussed, and the fading channel model as well as the power control principle is analysed. The idea that power efficiency is the criteria as evaluating the system capacity of MSC systems such as TDMA and CDMA is first presented. Finally, using Monte-Carlo method, the system capacity for different working modes is simulated, and the conclusion that with perfect power control CDMA and TDMA systems have equivalent capacity is given
