Abstract
The incorporation of parallel processing computer architectures in engineering applications, which provides tremendous potential for improved characteristics such as speed, bandwidth, and precision, is discussed. The OCCAM programming model used is described. The advantages and drawbacks of the transputer approach are indicated. Some of the issues involved in using one such parallel-oriented architecture (transputers) for a digital filtering application are discussed
