Abstract
With the deepening of the reform of Chinese tobacco distribution system, The State Tobacco Monopoly Bureau is accelerating the dissemination of the new purchase and sale model as "organizing sources of goods in accordance with the customer order ", which highlights the importance of Cigarette retailers in sales channels compared with traditional planning model. From the strongpoint of improving the marketing function of Cigarette manufacturers, optimizing the channel for the allocation of resources and enhancing the power of channels. This paper builds the selection and assessment system of strategic retailers in channel for cigarette manufacturers in China. The system has been successfully used in a certain cigarette manufacturer which makes a selection and assessment of strategic retailers to Beijing market channels, which shows a good applicability and practicality.
