  • Abstract
Drinking water is the most important water resource, which is closely related to health and quality of life. However, there are so many problems that exist in drinking water, such as the poor quality and management of water. Obviously, the security of drinking water is threatened. In this paper, according to drinking water protection area delineation principle,GIS-assisted three-dimensional simulation model is introduced to delineate drinking water source protection areas of the five reservoirs in Ningbo taking various factors in consideration, such as natural environment, laws, and so on. On this basis, the 3D display system of Ningbo drinking water source protection areas is built to effectively promote safety supervision of these zones and ensure the security of the drinking water of the inhabitants.
