Using ISO9000 series standards and Excellence performance model, we design a survey questionnaire to investigate quality management status quo of equipment manufacturing industry in China. By using statistic analyses, we find large-scale enterprises are better than medium-scale an small-scale enterprise, while medium-scale enterprises are better than small-scale ones in some aspects, such as, product quality, well-known trademark, famous brand product, quality systems certification and implementation, and quality rewards. In addition, we analyze the relationship among system factors, processes factors and results factors, and then find that the most important factors for equipment manufacturing industry in China to improve product quality is ´leadership´, ´basic management´, ´information and measurement´, and ´design and development´ take the second place, and the less important is enhancing ´manufacturing and inspection´.
