Abstract :
This paper demonstrates the design and implementation of a novel high dynamic range amplifier for broadband receiver applications. The high dynamic range amplifier employs the novel concept of cascaded reactively terminated single-stage distributed amplifier (CRTSSDA) which is integrated with a low-noise resistive feedback amplifier. The 2-18 GHz amplifier is shown to exhibit an associated gain of 34 dB, with a noise figure of 3.3 dB. It had a third-order output intercept of 32 dBm at the 1-dB gain compression point of 23 dBm.
