Abstract :
Laser processing covers a broad range of laser-induced sample modifications that are all ultimately based on the coupling of light energy to the sample. In spite of the central role of this energy coupling, surprisingly little is known about the precise mechanisms. The effect of laser induced surface roughness and surface chemistry on the energy coupling will be addressed in this presentaation.
