Abstract
The application of impulse radar to probe bridge decks offers many advantages in bridge deck management including: non-destructive testing, rapid and reliable data collection, automatic data interpretation, archival record of bridge deck structure, and cost effective evaluation. In the paper, selected impulse radar waveforms collected from twenty-six different bridge decks are examined. Based on these data, a very effective feature extraction procedure has been developed to identify the conditions of the bridge decks that can be categorized into six different classes
