Abstract
In two-tier macro-femto heterogeneous networks, optimal spectrum and power resource allocation are important issues for achieving high efficient resource utilization and guaranteeing continuously increasing wireless accessing requirements. In this paper, an energy-efficient optimal joint power and spectrum allocation algorithm for marco-femto heterogeneous network is proposed. Through formulating the energy efficiency of both macrocell user equipments (MUEs) and femtocell user equipments (FUEs), and modeling user data rate and outage probability constraints, the optimization problem is formulated as maximizing user individual energy efficiency subject to user quality of service (QoS) constraints. Applying ideal-point method, the formulated multi-object optimization problem can be solved and the optimal energy efficiency of all the users can be obtained. Numerical results demonstrate the proposed algorithm is capable of optimizing user energy efficiency and guaranteeing the QoS requirements of both MUEs and FUEs.
