Abstract
A compact Planar Inverted-F Antenna (PIFA) with a coplanar parasitic element for WCDMA mobile communication handset terminals is presented. The antenna has small size, good radiation performance, minimal degradation of performance caused by user proximity, wide bandwidth and two unique close resonant frequencies that are ideally suited for Frequency Division Duplex (FDD) WCDMA systems with a 190MHz-frequency separation.
